Summary: Amasement of Evolution
Comment: This four volume set or nervous system evolution is an advanced book suited mostly to neuroscientists. For a second level reader like myself who is a neurosurgeon and interested in evolution and brain, it is a most useful and comrehensive book set. The glossary at the begining of each capter is crucial and briliantly thought for better understanding and updating the basic biological and taxanomical knowledge. I found the capters that I sought to be helpfull. It must be kept in mind that this four volume set is basically a reference book for an evolving branch os science and too far advanced for the layman.

Summary: a brave attempt to conquer comparative neuroanatomy
Comment: thie beautifully produced 4 volume work is a great achievement. About half the chapters and terrific and that is worth the price of admission. As perhaps one should expect from an edited work of this kind, there are serious omissions and a few lightweight chapters, but overall it is something that should be on the shelf of every serious neuroscientist.
