Customer Rating: Summary: Take Control and Live Comment: This book was recommended by a cancer therapist and provides powerful testimonials from patients who have used a major health crisis to re-evaluate and re-cast their life's direction. In so doing, many conquered what otherwise would be a death sentence. The advice is valid not solely for cancer victims, but for all who are ready to take control of their lives and allow the mind and spirit to make the most of our powerful immune system and disease-fighting capabilities. A very uplifting and provocative book.
Customer Rating: Summary: Cancer As a Turning Point Comment: I found this book to be of help in understanding the cancer "pyche".Some of the mind-body connections are definitely beneficial in dealing with this subject. It makes more sense to the present day alternative approach to treating people.
Customer Rating: Summary: Cancer As a Turning Point Comment: My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer not too long ago. He is 87 years old and has had a very full life. This book was recommended to me by the family member of another pancreatic cancer patient. The book is warm, true and full of both tangible medical strategies and spiritual hope. It has given me great comfort in this time of such unrest. If you are looking for a bit of light in this great time of darkness in your life this is the book to get. -Blessings
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for cancer pts or their families Comment: LeShan really has it down; after 40 years of working with cancer patients he has distilled how to fight for your life doing inner work. He says find your joy in every day, make your work the kind that makes you want to get up in the morning, make time for exercise and feeding your soul and loving others. He has research to prove it works. At last we have a guide to go further than our conventional medical treatments take us and making your life meaningful and joyful boosts your immune function. Immune function is the part the medical model forgot! You can do more and LaShan shows you how. I work as a music therapist with cancer patients and am a survivor myself. This book makes perfect sense; get it and read it!
Customer Rating: Summary: not only for cancer people but also for heathly ordinary who wants to get the max out of life. Comment: I dont understand somthing, why all the time people are saying that this is for people figuting cancer? LeShan in his own words says that cancer is a normal process that is heppening in every body 24 hours a day, it is only the immune system that isnt able to fight the process and as a result what we are calling a diease excist.
I am trying to say that everybody should read and accept what is in this book, the immune system is the gate for everything, dosent matter weather you are figting the "diease" or weather you are an elite athlete needs to strengen his body and mind.
It is up to you weather you use the tools writen here, but it is an eye opening book that tells you how far you can go.
