The purpose of this book is to provide pre-dental students with pertinent information about the various factors to consider when choosing and applying to dental school. Also, the major elements of the Dental Admission Test (DAT), and advice on how to take it, are explained in some detail. In addition, this book makes recommendations regarding the pre-dental resources which are currently on the market. The author, Dr. Joseph Kim, is a former DAT instructor who understands the fears and concerns that dental school applicants face. In this book, he provides answers to many of the questions that pre-dental students have. This is the only book that dental school applicants must have.

Summary: Great for those interested in the field
Comment: Any time that a person enters a new stage of life, there will be challenges - and wanting to enter the field of dentistry is no different. There are challenges to overcome and it's important to be prepared so that you can successfully tackle them.
Dr. Joseph Kim's book, The Pre-Dental Guide: A Guide for Successfully Getting into Dental School, will help readers do just that, providing potential applicants with plenty of information from the ground up to help them get into dental school. Not just any dental school, either, because Kim also focuses on helping people get into the dental school that they want.
The author of this book is a dentist himself who has gone through the process that he describes; plus, he has worked as an instructor for the Dental Admission Test (DAT), as well. Perhaps the most useful part of the book, not surprisingly, is the insight that he offers to students who want to take and pass the DAT. If you're thinking about dental school but worry about test taking, the tips that he offers and the mistakes that he warns against should be especially helpful to you.

Comment: This book is just a waste. It is old and outdated. Just go to SDN for any info you need to apply to dental school.

Comment: It was helpful in terms of it has pretty much everything that you should know before you apply to dental school. Just use this book as a guide to plan and get some idea when you have no clue. It won't give more than that. It gives some strategies for DAT but it's not enough for sure to improve your DAT score. As I said earlier...just use this book as a guide.
