Editorial Reviews for Radiographic Image Analysis
|
This comprehensive guide shows how to reduce the need for repeat radiographs. It teaches how to carefully evaluate an image, how to identify the improper positioning or technique that caused a poor image, and how to correct the problem. This text equips radiographers with the critical thinking skills needed to anticipate and adjust for positioning and technique challenges before a radiograph is taken, so they can produce the best possible diagnostic quality radiographs.
* Provides a complete guide to evaluating radiographs and troubleshooting positioning and technique errors, increasing the likelihood of getting a good image on the first try. * Offers step-by-step descriptions of all evaluation criteria for every projection along with explanations of how to reposition or adjust technique to produce an acceptable image. * Familiarizes technologists with what can go wrong, so they can avoid retakes and reduce radiation exposure for patients and themselves. * Provides numerous critique images for evaluation, so that readers can study poor images and understand what factors contributed to their production and what adjustments need to be made. * Combines coverage of both positioning and technique errors, as these are likely to occur together in the clinical environment. * Student workbook available for separate purchase for more practice with critique of radiographs. * Provides Evolve website with a course management platform for instructors who want to post course materials online.

Customer Rating: Summary: another great buy Comment: I received my order very quickly. Product was just what I was looking for and met all of my expectations.
Customer Rating: Summary: Attention Radiographers Comment: This text book is a must for both student and practicing radiographers. The quality of the pictures are excellent and the explanations great. I highly recommend this text to all my students in the Radiographic programme at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica W.I.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very good critique manual Comment: This book is helpful because it deals with both film/screen (conventional radiography) and computed/direct radiography. The author gets straight to the point and does not use alot of unnecessary technical jargon. It covers the basics from where to place your marker on the image to anatomical terms all the way to dividing the body examinations for general x-ray and how to critique your films. It really assists you in becoming a better techologist.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great way for experienced tech to know if they are on point Comment: I thought my images were acceptable. This book showed me not only were they not as good as they could have been, but what the radiologists are looking for when they are reviewing images. Super good book for tweaking your skills.
Customer Rating: Summary: Misleading Picture and Description Comment: I am completely unhappy with my recent purchase. The image and the description were of the item that I had intended on purchasing. I recieved the workbook intended to accompany the text I thought I was purchasing. There was only one small line at the bottom of the page indicating the work book was what I was purchasing. The picture used should not have been of the text book. It should have been of the actual item for sale. This was a complete waste of money as I had to purchase the text anyway.
