Summary: The rubber balls smell like formaldehyde
Comment: I purchased this product, based on all the positive customer reviews. I liked the book, but I cant use the balls for more than 2 minutes before the noxious chemical smell overwhelms my olfactory system and I tense up even more. Now I understand that new rubber balls and other new items have a distinct new oder and that after a few weeks the smell will go away. I have had these balls on the balcony for 6 months and they still smell Ive tried washing them in hot water/ soap letting them sit in the sun, vinegar, but nothing works. Only reason Im giving this a 2 stars is the tiny pocket sized book, while written for people with an understanding of anatomy. Her ideas are sound and I bought other rubber balls (no smell, not even when new) that I use. While I would buy another book from the author never again will I buy anything from this publisher who doesn't care anything about product quality.

Comment: "Don't leave home without it," we've all heard that one. Well, that describes how I feel about this ball/book combo.
I bought the original Miracle Ball set, and I toted it with me to deal with back, hip, and neck issues. The day I learned the Portable Miracle Ball was out there, I bought one from Amazon. It's taken up permanent residence in my carry-on. Over a year later, it shows no wear and performs beautifully.
For the record, I am a 'carry-on diva' who never checks bags on any carrier to anywhere, on any kind of transport, for any length of time. This ball, in its mesh bag, is something I make room for gladly. It actually fits quite well inside many Lexan mugs; you can stow them together to save space. If you haul your bag a little too far - it will help. If you have to go up a gazillion steps because the lift is out, the ball will help. If you've just sat immobile for too long through a bout of turbulence (with the attendant back issues, or even crampy, knotted legs), this ball will help! The book is small enough to squirrel away in nearly any bag.
Make room for the Portable Miracle Ball in your bag. You will never regret it. If you're used to seeing a chiropractor when you arrive, or arrive home, you may be pleasantly surprised; if nothing else, if the ball helps you, that's just more money to spend here on Amazon. :)

Summary: Portable miracle ball
Comment: I had bought the regular Miracle balls before and I am very fond of them. The Portable ball adds the convenience of traveling with a smaller size ball. I bought it just before flying to Europe and was very happy to carry it on board the plane and use it during the long hours of sitting in my cramped seat. The mesh bag is a great idea - you grab and position the ball without fear of it rolling out of your hand, or under the seat. I used it to help me relax/stretch shoulder blades, leg muscles, neck, etc.
I recently bought a set for a friend too, and I will recommend it to anyone who needs to relax tight muscles.

Summary: perfect travel solution
Comment: I have owned the original Miracle Ball set for several years, and I just returned from a very long trip where I was in the car for several hours a day. When I reached my destination, I headed over to the local book store and purchased the portable kit. My lower back and hips were in severe pain from sitting in the car for so long, and my right leg was numb from the hip pain. By the time I went to bed that first evening, my pain was gone and I slept great. This is all because of this kit. It is different from the original kit. It contains a book written with exercises one can do on the road or in the office, even sitting in a chair. Perfect. I can see keeping this in my bag all the time. It is discreet and you could even use some of the exercises during a business meeting, as many of them are done in a chair.

Summary: Unbelievably Amazing!
Comment: I saw these at Costco and thought they might just be another cheesy (as seen on tv) type scam. I broke down and purchased them and I am totally amazed what they can do. I suffer from adult scoliosis and work at a desk all day which causes me to use poor posture which equals immense pain and knots in my shoulders and neck. I have tried chiropractors in combination with massage theray and while it worked, it was too expensive. I truly believe that yoga (Bikram specifically) is a miracle cure for one's body. However, for those that have difficulty finding the time and/or motivation to go - this is the ideal pain reliever!
I look forward to the moment I sit down every night to use the miracle balls. I have found that when I place one ball directly on the curved area of my spine - it immediately releases the pressure and cracks my back. I could lay there forever. The other stretch that I love is holding 3 neck angles for 10 minutes each - the knots are immediately smaller. I do have to say that these stretches are so intense (but feel amazing) that sometimes when I get up I am a bit nauseous. But that diminishes very quickly.
I rarely write reviews for products but felt these miracle balls deserve some praise. I haven't even used the book yet! If you are considering them - just buy them! They are so affordable that there is no reason to second guess purchasing them.
