Summary: Endocrinology Consult for a good price
Comment: I bought this book for an Endocrinology rotation during my @nd year in residency, including Consult Service and Outpatient Clinic. This book includes most of the basic knowledge that i needed to complete my service month, without leaving many topics that i needed uncovered. I found though, that it lacks some important topics, like uncontrolled DM due to medication or infection, Steroids tapering, role of diuretics in hypercalcemia, medications induced osteoporosis. For these cases I had to refer to uptodate for more details. Apart from these it was very good in explaining the diagnostic studies for the different organ functions and diseases. Eg. it helped me finally understand when NOT to order thyroid function tests! Overall i can certainly state that I do not know any manual-sized book, that would include the missing topics in its contents and the rest of this book is very nice so I am giving a 4/5 for being the best book in its category, but not being perfect.
