Authorship and review
Every clinical page is drafted and then checked by a separate medical reviewer with relevant training or certification. The medical reviewer checks the page for clinical accuracy, guideline alignment, and appropriate citation before publication and at each subsequent review. Author and reviewer names are not currently published on individual pages; the review itself, and the “last reviewed” date it produces, are what’s shown.
Review cycle
Clinical pages display a “last reviewed” date. Pages are reviewed on a rolling basis, and sooner when a relevant guideline is updated or an error is reported.
Sourcing
Clinical claims are supported by citations to peer-reviewed literature, major society guidelines (for example, the American Society of Echocardiography or the European Society of Cardiology), or standard reference textbooks. Claims without an available citation are not published.
Images
All figures are labeled as placeholder, illustrative, or sourced, and no patient-identifiable imagery is used without explicit, documented consent and institutional approval. Case library entries are de-identified.
Editorial independence from advertising
This site may carry advertising and affiliate links — see our Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy. Advertisers and affiliate partners do not review or approve content, and ads and affiliate links do not influence which topics are covered, what a page concludes, or its severity thresholds and recommendations — those are governed solely by the authorship, review, and sourcing standards above. Products are not recommended solely because they carry an affiliate link.
Corrections
If a factual or clinical error is identified, it is corrected as soon as practical and the page’s “last reviewed” date is updated. Report a suspected error via our Contact page.
